The Senior Umbrella Network is a multi-chapter organization of professionals from Long Island and the boroughs who serve older adults and the disabled. SUN provides an open forum for these professionals to network at a breakfast meeting on a monthly basis. Each chapter invites speakers regularly to provide useful information to members either for professional growth or to provide new resources for their clients.

The SUN organization has a strong advocacy element. A dedicated committee drawing members from each chapter chooses a different topic yearly to educate and enlighten seniors and their caregivers.

In addition, the Suffolk chapter has created a speakers’ bureau to promote its members and the Queens and Suffolk chapters have created scholarship funds.
